Stunning Raku Wall Art livens up your home or workspace

Each (approximately) five-inch square piece has a wooden rod—for easy hanging—attached with copper and adorned with gemstones.

Choose from the Following Designs:

Om - OM is the sound of all creation, a representation of past, present, & future.  That which has manifested and has not.  By even having this symbol around you, you are raising your own vibration as well as that of others.

Lotus - The lotus symbolizes rising from the muck to flourish and become reborn.

Sun - The sun symbolizes firmness, strength and power.

Blessed Heart - The heart is the locus of physical and spiritual being and represents the "central wisdom of feeling as opposed to the head-wisdom of reason."  It is compassion and understanding, life-giving and complex. It is a symbol for love. Often known as the seat of emotions, the heart is synonymous with affection.

Hamsa - The Hamsa Hand is an ancient Middle Eastern amulet symbolizing the Hand of God. In all faiths it is a protective sign. It brings its owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune. The word, hamsa, derives its name from the five fingers on the hand.

Om Lotus - A lotus with an Om symbol represents evolution and changes in your life.  It is where you overcome obstacles such as a bad habit, or a challenge at work or school, or when you finally make up your mind on something and run to a better future.

Raku Process

Pieces are fired in an outdoor kiln to 2,000 degrees F.

They are then pulled from the red-hot oven and plunged into a sand pit with wood shavings. The heat ignites the shavings.  When the flames reach their maximum height, the pit is covered with a metal drum.

The unique way in which the fire burns creates a one of a kind splashing of colors from the copper glaze on the Raku art piece. The intense change in temperature from the red-hot kiln to the outdoor atmosphere shocks the glaze, causing cracks.  The smoke penetrates any unpainted parts of the ceramic art, turning it black.  The black lines in the crackle are from the smoke penetrating the fissures in the transparent glaze.

Each Piece is Unique

Ceramic art made by hand has minor variations in size and shape.  Due to the varying conditions of the Raku process, each piece is unique and no piece will look exactly like the picture from the catalog or website.  The colors in copper matte vary and may include copper, blue, silver, gold, magenta, green and brown.

Despite efforts to create the most beautiful Raku finishes possible, occasionally some items will arrive with minor imperfections such as small scars, specks, cracks or pin holes in the glaze.  These imperfections are unavoidable in the Raku process and add to the character and uniqueness of each piece.  Copper in the matte Raku glaze may react over time to the atmosphere and could slowly turn green. To best preserve the finish, keep Raku pieces with copper-based glazes in a dry environment and out of direct sunlight.
